Flying at Marina requires current H3 or P3 USHPA rating, or higher

The Coastal Condors Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club has been maintaining coastal free flight in Monterey Bay since 1974. The sand dunes of Marina State Beach offer some of the best dune soaring on the California coast. This access does not exist by default—it is maintained. Marina is a managed site operating under California State Parks, supported by USHPA insurance and active site stewardship by Coastal Condors. There is a path for all pilots to enjoy flying here, but it requires following site rules, meeting minimum pilot ratings (P3/H3+), and signing in before flying. This is not a “show up and fly however you want” site. In return, you gain access to a rare opportunity: miles of coastal dunes with consistent smooth lift in a publicly accessible setting. If you value this site, support it. Become a member, follow the rules, and help preserve access for the future.
